The Leprechaun Trap
My sister in law is so good and making holidays special for her kids. A while ago she told me about a Leprechaun trap that she does with her kids and I have wanted to try it. So last night we built our leprechaun trap and Willard put some treasure inside it and set the ladder so the leprechaun could climb in and then not be able to get back out...
During the night the leprechaun came and did all sorts of mischief in our kitchen and he got in the leprechaun trap and found a way to get out too!!! We awoke this morning to find our kitchen all messed up and a note from the leprechaun saying he had escaped from our trap but he left us a little gift for the treasure he took from us.
Our little Porky was VERY concerned about the chairs being over-turned and didn't stop saying uh-oh until we finally put them back up right. Willard was very excited about the treats the leprechaun left but he also wanted his treasure back (one penny and a nickel). To end off the morning we had green scrambled eggs and green buttered toast. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Pom Poms
I needed a decoration idea for a baby shower this past week and these Pom Poms were just the thing. So cheap, so easy, so cute! I will definitely be using this idea again.

Valentine's Flowers
Last year I found this activity in the February 2010 Family Fun Magazine and loved them. This year I decided to take them in the institute nursery that I was in charge of. It was a little ambitious and next time I think I would just make them in advance and let them color them there. Today I cut everything out in advance, then let the kids color the hearts (flower petals) and then I taped them together. It was a little exhausting but they just turn out as such cute Valentines. The ones I did in nursery were with construction paper and I had a leaf on the back with a name or message on it.
Just cut out three hearts, a 5 petal flower for the middle and a leaf for the back. Put a hole punch through each. Crease the hearts in the center and then put a dum dum sucker through each and tape it secured how you want it. Write a Valentine message on the leaf.

Happy Groundhog's Day
I found this little activity off of http://www.dltk-kids.com/animals/mgroundhog.html. You use toilet paper rolls, the template is a little smaller than it should be to fit a roll perfect but oh well.
Willard had a lot of fun with it and I combined it with another idea I saw for a pop up groundhog. Willard loved sinking the groundhog back into his cave then popping him up to see his shadow...thats right, the groundhog saw his shadow at our house...what a surprise, six weeks more of winter! :(

Canvas Art- Damien's Room
I saw this idea on this WEBSITE. I love this lady :) I have some old canvases that I used for our wedding pictures and I had gotten sick of looking at ourselves so much. So I decided to do these for Damien's room. This really is the first thing (other than his quilt) that I have done for his room.

Pink Crocheted Hat
This is a fun hat to make. I have made about 4 different hats all different colors and I love to make them. They are really easy to make and you can even make the cute crocheted flowers to put on the hat. I have made a bunch of crocheted flowers and put clips on the back and turned them into hair clips. Way cute!!!!!

Matching Boys Bug Blankets
When our little Willard was six months old I made him a blanket with bugs on it to match a pillowsham/crib skirt set I bought off of ebay. I cut the bugs out of the back of the crib skirt and ironed them on to his blanket. I have wanted to make Porky a matching blanket since he was born but it has taken until now. I used the rest of the crib skirt bugs for his and also made them matching pillow cases. Each quilt is a little different but the same idea. I designed each quilt all on my own and learned a lot in the process. My mom did the binding on the first blanket but I did everything by myself on the last one. WooHoo! Thanks mom, for all the coaching and support.

The Daily Calendar Christmas Project
This was a big project for my son for Christmas. I used felt and levi and fabric paint. I still need to make activity and mood pieces...I ran out of time. But Caleb loves it, we change it every day and his favorite is the clock. Fun!
